Kitchen “2 rooms into 1”

I recently moved into my 1930s built, three bedroom house overlooking Furzeley golf course in Denmead.  What I wanted to achieve was to transform the small kitchen into a large, airy kitchen-diner by knocking two rooms into one which would also open up the access to my mature, meandering garden by replacing my old back door with some more welcoming double glazed French Doors.

I was visited by the owner of Aphex, who went though all my requirements in detail and was keen to respond with some ideas of his own in order to achieve the optimum use of the space available and, importantly, taking into full consideration my overall vision of the new kitchen design.

I had been disappointed with the outcome of meetings with several building firms and kitchen salesmen as none could give me any degree of confidence or reassurance that I would be provided with the full range of professional trade services that would be required to achieve my aim. Furthermore, I was not offered sufficient or satisfactory technical advice at the design stage, an element I consider to be most important.

It was, therefore, very refreshing to receive a full written quotation from Aphex, which was rendered with visual images that detailed our new kitchen design. This was particularly impressive as this visual portrayal meant that we could see exactly what the finished project would look like. This part of the Aphex service essentially blew their competition away!

I awarded Aphex the work after further meetings to make sure we were all absolutely clear on the scope of work. From the start of the project to the finish I was most heartened with the professionalism, consideration and tidiness displayed by the fitters who applied much attention to detail to all aspects of their work. I always anticipated ‘problem areas’ to arise that could not be foreseen but the team had a first-rate attitude to resolving them thus allowing the project to progress satisfactorily.

As part of the design scope I wished to incorporate a feature wall with integrated larder cupboards, fridge freezer, electric fire and a recess for a wall mounted TV.  I also required some other areas of my home to be refurbished: this included the construction of a ground floor cloakroom in a space under the stairs with new plumbing services and installation of toilet and basin facility; along with some extensive plastering and flooring improvements throughout the property.

I am certainly confident that I made the right decision to select Aphex for this work. I would have no hesitation in recommending them as a sound, reliable and trustworthy company who thrive on offering a comprehensive and complete service through high professional standards. Their prices are very competitive and, in my experience, give excellent value for money.
